About us

Vertaria Consult is bringing the know-how associated with all aspects of setting up and doing business in Romania.  The company's credo is defined by the combination of local knowledge in the Romanian market and an international understanding of business.

The company emerged from the need and desire to provide one of the simplest routes for a foreign investor to make investments or find business partners in Romania and the region.  Based on our experience and competences, the investor will be able to establish a new company/subsidiary, search for investment opportunities, negotiate better conditions and create and capture value.

In the period 2004-5, the Vertaria group has purchased over 100 plots of land, mostly for ourselves.  Good connections together with the power of our own example, are two compelling arguments to convince any potential investor to make the right move into Romania.  Our operations have been developed based on best practices described by clear procedures such as the flow-chart of the land acquisition process.

Market Potential

The evolution in Romania's legal and fiscal systems, which is driven by the entry into the EU, is providing a certain welcome stability.  The economy is becoming more vibrant and accessibility is improving.  Investment opportunities are becoming more visible and in several distinct segments.  Romania is now attracting more serious interest from all areas of the world as the early "Wild East" mentality changes into a more transparent and predictable regime.

Serious investors are taking advantage of the less speculative and more business based opportunities and there is a growing presence of those companies and individuals who wish to take their place in a dynamic and ever more Western environment.  Now that the first wave of ex-Eastern bloc countries has been assimilated into the EU, ambitious foreign investors are looking to identify the cream of the projects in which to invest in this increasingly familiar environment.

Romanian land prices, especially for agricultural land, have increased by several multiples over the last two years.  Similarly, quality property (offices, houses and apartments) have also increased significantly in value.  Real estate services can be combined in a wide range of packages from “extravilan” (outside town area) agricultural land, to “intravilan” (in town area) with or without buildings on it, as well as houses/flats in residential areas.  Some of these are in a gated community, with attractive landscaping and sports facilities.  Rental income on such properties is typically several percentage points above the yields available in other parts of Europe.
